Bechtel National, Inc. is a leading provider of services to the U.S. Government in support of a variety of programs that are critical to the protection of our nation. As part of managing and operating several sites for the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) National Nuclear Security Administration, we have been supporting national security and defense efforts, developing new technologies to fight terrorism, monitoring the consequences of terrorist acts, designing emergency response programs, and training both military and civilian responders nationwide. At the same time, we have been providing a full spectrum of services for the Ground-Based Midcourse Defense program, including the fast-track design and construction of the missile field in Alaska. A Bechtel-led team is managing and operating the Reagan Test Site at Kwajalein Atoll, where giant, one-of-a-kind radar systems are used for monitoring periodic missile tests. We also manage Cooperative Threat Reduction (CTR) projects for the U.S. Department of Defense to eliminate missile bases and nuclear, chemical, and biological warfare capabilities in the former Soviet Union.
