The Homeland Security & Defense Business Council is the private sector's leading voice on homeland security not only because of the company we keep. The Council designs its programs, events and activities based on four broad mission areas:
An Open Dialogue with the public sector and among industry leaders
The Council forges relationships and interaction that encourages an open, honest conversation between those in the public and private sectors. Our peer-to-peer networking engages the highest-level senior executives of the leading homeland security solutions providers and their counterparts in the private sector at Executive Roundtables, Industry receptions, Member meetings among other activities designed to promote vigorous interaction.
Thoughtful Assessments of Pending Homeland Security Initiatives
The Council believes that a "reactive" stance is detrimental to the homeland security marketplace and to its members. To that end the Council works to analyze and assess rumored and pending initiatives and their impact on our members and the broader homeland security community. Our Executive Brief series, Strategic Partnerships, and substantive events all seek to add value and thought leadership to the conversation.
Informing the Homeland Security Conversation
Often Washington, D.C. is driven by pointing to problems rather than exploring challenges and informing solutions. All of the Council's members are experienced, world-class solution providers that seek to bring their expertise and experience to solving the complex mission areas that constitute our homeland's security. Through our Thought Leadership committee the Council develops primary research on market barriers, asks the right questions to guide and inform policy development, and assures that the perspective of industry is represented, understood and included.
The Collective Voice of Industry
The Council's members include the foremost companies engaged in the mission of securing our nation. This unique collection of industry leaders comprises an exclusive forum for substantive interaction with government leaders in homeland security. In addition to some of the largest companies, membership includes the leading companies and innovative small businesses that serve the mission of homeland security. The Council works to represent and engage these companies to help facilitate and support a robust homeland security marketplace.
