Homeland Security & Defense Business Council Welcomes Four New Members
The Council announced the addition of its four newest members in September: Booz Allen Hamilton, Devis, Giant Oak, and The MITRE Corporation. “We are excited and honored to welcome these esteemed and innovative companies to the Council,” said Marc Pearl, president and CEO of the Council. “They are recognized leaders in the homeland security community and will bring both their unique capabilities and a ‘mission-first’ approach to the work of our organization. Council Launches Final 20/20 Project Online Survey
The Council announced the launch of the 2019 20/20 Project on the State of the Homeland Security Enterprise survey in June. Developed in coordination with Council member and Project partner Grant Thornton LLP, this year’s survey focuses on anticipating and addressing the challenges facing the Homeland Security Enterprise in the coming decade. Responses will help form the foundation of the fifth and final year of the Council’s 20/20 Project that assesses the challenges and opportunities on key homeland security topics through expert recommendations from both the public and private sectors. 2018 Annual Report
The Council released its 2018 Annual Report at our Annual Members Meeting in April. The report provides a comprehensive overview of our activities last year and shines a spotlight on the impact and involvement of our members. It also includes a special 'Access | Insight | Influence in Action' section that details our efforts to achieve successful outcomes for both industry and government in the area of acquisition reform. Homeland Security & Defense Business Council and Grant Thornton Unveil Fourth Annual Report on State of the Homeland Security Enterprise
The Council and Grant Thornton released the fourth annual 20/20 Project on the State of the Homeland Security Enterprise Report at the 2019 National Conversation, held on March 11th. Part of a five-year initiative centered on the “Shared Vision, Shared Challenges, and Shared Opportunities” between government and industry across the Homeland Security Enterprise (HSE), the 2019 report focuses on the promise of innovation and the pain of bid protests in federal government acquisitions supporting the homeland security mission. John Saad of Guidehouse Appointed as Chairman of Board of Directors
John Saad, a partner and the National Security Sector Leader at Guidehouse, has been elected as the new Chairman of the Council's Board of Directors. He has co-chaired our Thought Leadership Committee and as a Board Director co-chaired our Strategic Direction Committee. The announcement was made at the Council’s Annual Dinner in December.
Homeland Security & Defense Business Council Honors McCaul, Piehota at Annual Dinner
We were honored to present our Government-Industry Engagement Award to Executive Assistant Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI)'s Science & Technology Branch, Christopher Piehota, for his and his team’s incredible efforts to pursue what Chris has called “fruitful partnerships with the private sector.” Read more here.
Three New Members Join the HSDBC Board of Directors
The Council recently announced the election of three new members to our Board of Directors. Brandon LaBonte, President and Chief Executive Officer of ArdentMC; Martin Mackes, Chief Delivery Officer at E3 / Sentinel; and Trey Theimer, Vice President and Account General Manager, Homeland Security at Perspecta, will help guide the overarching vision and direction of the Council and our programs and initiatives.
